small pay

Get paid by brands without chasing them.

Send the brand an invoice as a link. Small sends the reminders, and the brand pays without making an account. Nothing is owed to us until you’re paid.

Stripe’s standard US rates: 0.8%, capped at $5 by bank, 2.9% + 30¢ by card. A bank payment also costs $1.50 when your client verifies their account instantly, which most do, and $4 if it fails or $15 if it’s disputed. Bank transfer works for US-dollar invoices on a US Stripe account.

This is the real invoice page, not a mockup. The brand doesn’t need an account to open it or to pay it.

Four things you stop doing.

  1. 01

    Chasing

Five reminders go out on their own: three days before the due date, on the day, then 7, 14 and 30 days after. They stop when the invoice is paid, and wait while a bank payment clears.

  2. 02

    Getting the brand set up

The brand opens a link and pays by card or bank transfer. No account, no password, and nothing for their finance team to register for.

  3. 03

    Marking it paid

When the brand pays, the invoice marks itself paid and the reminders stop. There's nothing to reconcile by hand.

  4. 04

Rebuilding the year at tax time

Download your invoices and your payments as CSV, for whatever dates you pick, and hand them to whoever does your taxes.

Pay when a brand pays, or pay by the month.

Every business starts on Solo. Switch to Pro any time from Settings → Plan & billing. Stripe charges the same on both.

Solo

$0

0.5% of the invoice before tax when it’s paid, capped at $10 on any one invoice. Nothing on an invoice that never gets paid.

Pro, per seat

$7.00/seat/mo

Billed annually at $84.00 a seat, per year.

No Small fee on any payment.

Pro costs less in any month where Solo’s fees would pass $9. One invoice of $1,801 or more does it. Every limit on each plan is on pricing.

What creators ask first.

Do brands need to sign up?

No. The brand gets a link to the invoice. They can open it, pay it and download the PDF without making an account.

Can they pay by bank transfer?

Yes, by ACH, if the invoice is in US dollars and your Stripe account is in the US. Otherwise it’s card. It’s worth asking for. On a $5,000 invoice Stripe’s fee is $6.50 by bank, including $1.50 to verify the brand’s account, and $145.30 by card.

When does the money arrive?

A card payment reaches your bank on your own Stripe payout schedule, which you set in Stripe, not in Small. A bank transfer takes up to four business days to clear first; until it does, the invoice shows it as clearing and no reminders go out.

What if a brand only pays through its own portal?

Download the PDF and upload it there; Small can’t submit it for you. When the money arrives, mark the invoice paid. That stops the reminders, and Small takes no fee on money that didn’t go through Stripe.
