Small vs Harvest
Both track time and turn it into invoices. Here’s what each one charges a paying team: the seat price, the usage fees, and what happens when someone joins or leaves. Every figure that isn’t ours links to where we found it and says when we checked.
Seat prices
Harvest’s entry paid plan is Teams, and Small’s closest match is Pro. Harvest also sells a pricier Enterprise plan with governance features Teams doesn’t have, so Teams is the fair comparison.

Usage fees
Small charges per seat and nothing else. There’s no fee per invoice, client, project or API call on either plan, and we’ve committed to keeping it that way. Harvest’s pricing page says usage is billed on top of the seat price. As of the date below, it doesn’t say how much.

What that has meant for one real account
A customer of thirteen years who had been paying $211.20 a year, was quoted $2,547.60 a year at renewal, according to Bloomberg, after Bending Spoons bought Harvest in 2025. That’s one account’s reported renewal, not a forecast of what your team would pay.

Adding or removing a person mid-cycle

Seats are billed by the day, both ways. Add someone mid-month and you pay for the part of the month they're there. Remove them and the rest is credited right away.
Harvest
Adding a seat is charged immediately, prorated for the rest of the billing period. A seat can't be removed mid-cycle — a removal is scheduled and takes effect at the next renewal.

Bringing your Harvest account across
Small can import straight from Harvest. Go to Settings → Import, paste a Harvest personal access token, and your clients, projects, tasks, project rates, invoices and tracked time come across. Hours already billed on an imported invoice stay billed, so you can’t bill them twice by accident. The import only reads from Harvest, and your clients aren’t sent anything.
One limit: Harvest records who logged each hour, and Small doesn’t yet. So your team’s time arrives merged into one timesheet.
